If Squadding is Full

If squadding is full, go ahead and register.  We often have shooters drop out at the last minute.  I will squad you at the range so don't worry if the match appears to be full. We also accommodate walk-ups so if you decide you want to shoot and the registration is closed, come on out and I will register you at the range.

History of the Alamo Sports Shooting Club

Welcome to the Alamo Sport Shooters' Club website. We are an independent steel club that Greg Ferris (owner of Cedar Ridge Range) created 30 years ago. Jamie Foote was at the helm for twenty years creating challenges to prepare shooters for a variety of situations. Mike Dines ran the club for a while--many thanks for the mentorship.  Eric Lamberson of the Sensible Self Defense Academy is now the director and will continue the ASSC tradition of interesting challenges for shooters of all skill levels.  We are a Steel Challenge Affiliated Club and we post all scores for official stages to SCSA.

When and Where

ASSC holds their match on the first Sunday of every month at the

Cedar Ridge Range in Bulverde, Tx.

ASSC is an independent marksmanship club affiliated with the national Steel Challenge Shooting Association; however,  you do not have to be a club member to participate in our steel target shooting matches.

We welcomes all safe shooters

The Steel Match

The match consists of five stages with a minimum of four standard Steel Challenge stages and one fun stage. We follow Steel Challenge safety rules. You shoot each stage five times and only your fastest four runs count for score -- accuracy is key. Gates open at 8:30, sign up from 8:45 until 9:15 and we go "hammer down" at 9:30. Entry fee is $25 for all shooters. You may shoot a 2nd gun for an additional $10. Safe shooters of all skill levels are welcome.
